If a vet is operating out of premises which has employees or is accessed by members of the public, you do need to PAT Test. You should also ensure that any appliances that you use on other peoples premises are maintained and inspected. Most vets find the easiest way of complying is by doing their own PAT Testing. It is easy to do and you do not need to be an electrician. Try our free online PAT Testing Course, which introduces you to the fundamentals of PAT Testing. www.onlinepattestingcourse.co.uk While there is no law stating that you must PAT Test, by not demonstrating that you inspect and maintain your appliances, you could still fall foul of the law and your insurers.
