For the first time at BSAVA Congress a dog was brought into the exhibition hall for a demonstration.
Stephen Constable gave a practical overview of ultrasound followed by an in-depth demonstration of kidney imaging, intestinal imaging and cardiac measurements on the very obliging greyhound, Judy.
Marina Domingues, a vet from Merseyside said: “It was really useful to hear a general overview of ultrasound rather than being told very specific information, it was easier to understand.
Louise Hales a vet from Powis and Partners in Stourbridge concluded: “I got some good tips from Stephen and because it is such a visual discipline it was really useful to have a physical demo rather than a lecture.”
Stephen offers practical training through regular open attendance courses at Birmingham Dogs Home near Birmingham Airport and in-house private ultrasound tutorials.
