VetCPD’s brand new course ‘Employing and Managing Staff’ is the essential HR course for Veterinary professionals that will guide you through the life cycle of the employee relationship so that you have a better understanding of employment law and how to deal with workplace HR issues quickly and effectively.
Course details:
The course will be run by highly experienced HR professional Jo Kangurs from Keystone HR. Jo has over 15 years HR experience in a variety of sectors including leisure and tourism, not-for-profit, professional and legal services. “Employing staff can be a daunting step, with constant changes in employment legislation and employee rights. Whatever the size of your Veterinary practice, it’s important that you understand your responsibilities as an employer, and in doing so, it will minimize the risk to you, your business and your employees.”
Five modules will be covered over the three-week course, including subjects such as, ‘recruitment and contracts of employment’, ‘handling disciplinaries and grievances’ ‘effective performance management’, ‘dealing with sickness’, and ‘dismissing an employee’.
VetCPD online courses are comprised of webinars, thorough course notes, case studies, and an active forum. The courses are unique as each is run by an attentive tutor who will answer questions or comments on the forum. Each course is worth 8 hours CPD and is great value at £119 + VAT.
Other online CPD courses running this September are: ‘Improving your Microscopy’, ‘High Risk Anaesthesia for Veterinary Nurses’, ‘Skin Cytology for General Practice’ and ‘Developing Emotional Intelligence in Puppies’.
All courses run for three weeks, beginning on 10th Sept and ending on the 30th September. After this time, the tutor will no longer be active, but the content and MCQ exam will still be accessible, so can be completed by the participant over the next month.
