Course details:
Course tutor, Jessie Rose Payne, BVetMed MVetMed PhD MRCVS DipACVIM (Cardiology), an American specialist in Veterinary Cardiology, explained what students can expect to learn from this course,
“From the incidentally detected murmur in a young puppy, to the dogs with a history of collapsing episodes, to the cat that presents in respiratory distress, cardiovascular disease is frequently encountered. This course will provide a framework for an approach to a variety of clinical scenarios, discusses likely differentials and the next steps for diagnosis and management in first opinion practice”.
Nine modules will be covered throughout the course, dealing with subjects such as, approach to the murmur in the apparently healthy dog and cat, approach to arrhythmias and approach to the acute cardiology patient.
VetCPD online courses are comprised of webinars, thorough course notes, case studies, and an active forum. The courses are unique as each is run by an attentive tutor who will answer questions or comments on the forum. Each course is worth 8 hours CPD and is great value at £119 + VAT.
Other courses running this May are: ‘Anaesthetic Emergencies for Veterinary Nurses’, ‘Rabbit clinical care’, ‘Diabetes in Cats and Dogs’, and ‘Epilepsy in cats and dogs’. All courses run for three weeks with the tutor, beginning on 7th May and ending on the 27th May. After this time, the tutor will no longer be active, but the content and MCQ exam will still be accessible, so can be completed by the participant over the next month.
