Given the huge increase in brachycephalic corneal ulcerative disease, we are investing in equipment to perform corneal cross-linking.
This procedure is used to treat corneal oedema and keratitis by sterilising, strengthening and remodelling the corneal stroma. We plan to use this in the treatment of corneal melting ulcers, keratoconus, bullouskeratopathy and prior to graft surgery. We also hope it will reduce the number of cases requiring such graft surgery.
We are also pleased to announce that we have recently increased our ever-expanding team of specialists with the addition of further veterinary ophthalmologists and ophthalmic trained registered veterinary nurses which enables us to continue to provide the highest standard in veterinary ophthalmic care.
