Moore Scarrott, the UK’s leading veterinary accountancy practice, has launched an employment law and HR service through its law firm, MS Rubric. Moore Scarrott established its law firm in October 2016. MS Rubric is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and provides legal advice in the areas of commercial, employment, property, wills and probate.
The employment law and HR service is led by solicitor and partner, James Howell, and offers veterinary practices the opportunity to have access to an HR department without the cost of having to employ someone internally to perform that function. Veterinary practices can choose from a range of services which include advice on handling dismissal, disciplinary and grievance matters, a review of their employment contracts and policies, access to seminars and newsletters and discounted fees for handling employment tribunal claims.
Andy Moore, Managing Partner of Moore Scarrott, said “I’ve been advising veterinary practices for 20 years and a constant theme throughout that time has been HR and employment law issues. These issues can be time consuming and costly for a veterinary practice. Vets generally want to deal with animals rather than a disciplinary matter. That’s why we’ve introduced our fixed fee employment law and HR service – to allow vets to do what they do best, which is treating animals, and to allow us to do what we do best, which is looking after their business. With this service, we offer all the benefits of a veterinary practice employing an HR Manager, but at a fraction of the cost.”
The benefits of Moore Scarrott’s HR service include:
• Providing you with advice from a Solicitor or a CIPD qualified
HR professional;
• Keeping you on the right side of employment law;
• Helping you solve any problems with your employees;
• Helping to improve the performance of your employees; and
• Helping you avoid nasty and expensive employment tribunal claims.
As part of the service one of MS Rubric’s qualified team will, if you wish, visit your premises and review the current personnel documentation that you have in place. They will then identify your HR requirements and propose affordable solutions. An insurance product can be made available to sit alongside our advisory and support packages.
